Frontal Encephalocoele
Frontal encephalocoele occurs as a result of brain herniation through a defect in the bone. And it will be visible through the face. It can severely deform the face of the child. It is usually done as acombined procedure with neuro-surgical team. Once the encephalocoele is reduced the skull defect and the facial defect will be reconstructed by the plastic surgeon. Early surgery is beneficial since the delay can cause severe uncorrectable deformities to the facial growth.
